New Talents and, Spiders?!


Fellow Cave Crawlers, I am extremely excited to share this new huge update!

Completely revamped stats, buffs, and talents systems, added a list of buffs at the top of the screen that shows the icon of the buff stat type, or the icon of the talent that buff came from. Buffs have duration remaining numbers on top of them, and infinite buffs don't show duration (such as many talents). Talent system is now way less specific, and allows for so many more cool talents to be added to the game. The start of this is shown by the new talents added such as, a new talent at the end of the dagger talent tree that gives a chance to gain attack speed on hit. Talents now show if they have a duration, the chance to be activated, as well as the stat change. Another talent called "Speedster" gives the player movement speed on mob kill, which I thought to be really fun! Many more are to come!

Spiders have been added to the game! Procedural animation allows the spider's legs to attach to surfaces, as well as move back and forth. The spiders eye will glow red (while awake). It looks so cool! Spiders are creepy, make no noise when walking, and have a lunge attack. 

Spider Nests have now been added to the game! Spider Nests hold spider webs and a bunch of sleeping spiders. Making a walk sound while in the room currently has a 1 percent chance to trigger the spider nest, and all the spiders will wake up. Each will wake at a random time interval, and triggering the nest will play a creepy sound with "The Spiders Have Awoken" at the top of the screen. At the end of the spider room includes multiple, high loot items spawns and additionally some chests.

The next cave system, the Crystal Caverns, is in development and looks amazing! Can't wait to see it in game!
